Tromsø #2

Northern Lights

Finally Léa, Jose and me got to see Tromsø as well..
We went there last weekend and it was an amazing trip! Our journey started on friday morning (far too early) with the flight to Tromsø. We flew from Stavanger to Oslo and from Oslo to Tromsø. Tromsø is so up in the north! It was around 3 1/2 hours of flying.
As we arrived in Tromsø the sun was almost about to get down and Tromsø welcomed us with a wonderful pink clear sky. Stunning (even if it was just 2pm).
Pierre, our host, picked us up at the airport and brought us to his flat. Pierre and Léa are friends from the middle-school and they didn't see each other for ten years. Big reunion in Tromsø
In the evening Pierre showed us around the city, it is a pretty nice small place.
Afterwards we went out on a field to spot Northern Lights . We were all pretty excited and wanted to see them. At first we saw just a really weak one which seemed more like a green rainbow in the night. But suddenly it started to explode and it grew bigger and bigger and started to move. It was super amazing to see!
After 30 minutes with -13 °C we all were pretty frozen and I couldn't feel my toes anymore, but it was worth it.

Tartiflette

We ended the evening with an awesome Tartiflette and went exhausted in our beds. (or more the bed, the whole room was more or less one big mattress)
The next day we took the cable car up to the Storsteinen. We hiked some meters further up, enjoyed the spectacular view and freezed again. To get warm we took a hot chocolate and our amazing selfmade-trikini-sandwiches in the restaurant on the top.

Mountain Trip

In the evening we went with Pierre to a little pre-party at his friend's house and afterwards to Driv, the studentsklub of Tromsø.
On sunday we were pretty lazy and got up quite late. In the afternoon we went to Kvaløya a little out of Tromsø and did a walk in the snow. We tried to spot some whales but unfortunately we didn't see any.
In the evening we grabbed some sledges and sleged down a hill in front of Pierre's House. Jose, Pierre and Alex ( a friend of Pierre) did a sledge race. good fun
On monday we just had a last breakfast together and then took the plane back home to Stavanger.
It was a super nice trip and Pierre was an amazing host, Thanks :)
